SMSM in London

In response to an invitation from the Province of Europe of the Society of Mary, we SMSM sisters opened a small community in the heart of London, where we are working together with the Marist Fathers in Notre Dame de France (a French speaking parish), in Leicester Square. Sisters Benilde Cozzi and Marie Rose Lengsau feel privileged to be part of the formation of catechists (100) in 8 schools with almost 900 students. Another outreach is to welcome asylum-seekers and refugees to Notre Dame Refugee Centre where sandwiches, hot and cold drinks are provided every Saturday.

This is a very active parish with many committed lay people. The Marist Community are witnessing to “Mary’s way of loving and serving, so as to be a little of her presence in the world” (SMSM Constitutions 10).
