The General Chapter is a meeting of the Congregation held every seven years. This meeting takes place

“to promote congregational renewal in fidelity to the Gospel and to our vocation in the Church, and to elect the  congregational leader and her council" (Const. 382).

“With Christ as their centre, the participants form a community, enriched by their different cultural backgrounds, varied missionary experiences and the complementarity of their personal gifts. Supported by prayer and aided by the preparatory reflection that has taken place throughout the congregation, they try to evaluate the different elements of our life in the light of the Gospel, of our spiritual heritage and of the calls from the Church and the world” (Const. 383).
