Celebrating 150 years since the arrival of the First Group of Pioneers in Australia



On 3rd March 2008, it was 150 years since the first group of pioneers, Sisters Marie de l’Espérance, Marie de la Pitié, and Marie de la Miséricorde arrived in Sydney, Australia on their way to the island of Futuna where they met Marie Francoise Perroton who had been the only sister for 12 years. Members of the Marist family, benefactors and former SMSM attended a display of our history in the Hunters Hill Historical Society Museum and a time of prayer at the Hunters Hill parish church followed by afternoon tea.
