We will be spending most of our time here in the village of Kette, East Cameroon.
We will work in two Primary Schools with the parents and teachers of both local and refugee children. Kette is about 8 or 10 hours’ drive from Yaoundé, the capital city of Cameroon. The plan is that we will be living in the Guest House of the Batouri Diocese, which is about 3 hours’ drive from Kette village. During the pilot phase, we will be working out of 2 villages, Kette and Boubara (a village not far from Kette). Kette, the furthest village, is about 10 to 12 hours from the frontier of Cameroon and the Central African Republic.
Our aim is to improve the Education Services in the four schools in these two villages. The classrooms will need to be repaired. They were built for 50 children but in reality 300 to 400 children with two or three teachers use each classroom!
